Sports Competitions’ Results

On the 10th of December SOP SEK Girls’ Basketball played the quarter-finals against DeBakey High School. SEK girls were leading a win 2-1 but, could not maintain their superiority against a more aggressive opposition. The game was resumed with SEK losing 2-3, not making it to the semi-finals. Congratulations to the girls on their enthusiastic participation.

Later that day, QUESS SEK U14 Boys’ Football travelled to play their match against Mesaieed International School (MIC). A lively 11-a-side match, with both sides showing some good football skills. The SEK boys were able to mantain a good score up until late, when it became evident the training, and stamina of the MIC boys who won by 4-0. Highlights go to the goalkeeper.

Monday 15th, QUESS SEK U14 Boys’ Basketball played at Doha College. The superiority and skilled experience of DC boys was obvious throughout the two 20-minute running halves. However, SEK boys enjoyed themselves. The game was resumed with DC scoring 45 points against 9 points from SEK.

SEK Girls’ Basketball in the Schools Olympic Program

The 3rd of December marked the first participation of SEK International School Qatar in the Schools Olympic Program (SOP). SEK Qatar Girls’ Basketball (3×3) team showed competitiveness and won their first game, beating Palestinian School by 5-4. On the second game the girls showed even more confidence, achieving a greater score of 6-0 against Birla Public School Doha. The P.E. team would like to congratulate the girls on their first and successful participation, and is looking forward to the following SOP fixtures. Best wishes to all students involved!

 

QUESS U14 Boys’ Football fourth match

On December 1st, the fourth match of the U14 Boys’ Football took place at Doha British School (DBS) where the boys played a 7-a-side match against an experienced squad. The SEK footballers showed perseverance despite losing 5-1 at half time. Highlights go to the performance of Alejandro Tebar who is 11 years of age, and scored SEK’s first goal within two minutes of entering the game. The fantastic talent from 10-year-old Adrián García who in every game shows great skills and confidence. Also, striker Mark Elsonbaly who scored SEK’s second goal. The final score was a 6-2 win to DBS.
